A weekend of total relaxation in a marine spa just south
of Biarritz. 6 sea-water treatments, half-board in 3* hotel
and transfers included. 
France has always played a leading role in the development
of thalassotherapy. The thriving marine life of France's
beautiful Atlantic coastline combined with the country's
long tradition of thermal baths and spas, has led to the
development of unique techniques and products in the field
of thalassotherapy. (Thalassa is Greek for "sea" and
lends its name to this unique method of preventative and
curative treatment which uses the renowned therapeutic virtues
of seawater and seaweed to oxygenate, tone, moisturize and
revitalize the body and the skin.)
Your weekend is based in St Jean-de-Luz, the smallest and
most refined of the three Basque coastal resorts: Biarritz
and San Sebastien tending to be flashier and noisier. St
Jean is a modest but chic resort, where turn-of-the-century
townhouses line the unspoilt seafront rather than impetuous
highrises.
The programme:
Friday: arrival
at Biarritz Airport: transfer to the hotel/thalassotherapy
centre in St Jean. Settle into your room. You'll probably
have time to slip into the 33°C Marine pool to dissipate
the fatique of the journey and spend 30 minutes in the
Hammam before dinner. Dine on fresh products of the sea,
facing the ocean, in the hotel restaurant. Overnight in
hotel.
Saturday: After breakfast, into the gym to work up an appetite,
join a yoga or Qi Gong session before retiring to the Marine
pool, sauna and Hammam.
In the afternoon you take the first of your care treatments
: hydromassage, aquajet and multijet.
You'll have time later to stroll around this bijou town and
visit the church where Louis XIV - the Sun King - married
the Infanta of Spain. And, of course, you can bathe in the
Atlantic!
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Sunday: After breakfast the second session of care treatments
and free access to the Marine pool, gym, sauna and Hammam.
Depending on flight times you will probably have time to
discover the fishing port (tuna and sardine catches daily)
and a last dip in the Ocean before transfer back to the airport.

Your 3* spa hotel is ideally situated near
the pedestrian centre of town and directly linked to the
Institut
de Thalassothérapie which gives on to the sea. Your
room is bright and spacious and equipped with air-conditioning,
bathroom with tub, toilet, hair-dryer, towel dryer, satellite
TV, minibar and room service. The restaurant 'Atlantique'
has an exceptional view over the bay and the beach: the perfect
setting for healthy basque cuisine.
