the tricks of the surfing game on the Basque Coast
in France : self-catering studio, surf lessons and equipment
included.
Biarritz,
the Basque Country, the Atlantic Ocean ... sun, surf
and sea only an hour and a half from rainy UK or drizzly Dublin.
Our surf initiation break is based in the European Surfing
capital of Biarritz, complete with its miles of fine sand
strands, lively nightlife, Casino and, above all, waves!
The
programme:
Day 1 : Fly in direct from
Dublin or London to Biarritz airport
and be met by your surf instructor in person
who will transfer you (10 minutes)
to your Residence
in central
Biarritz to talk over the weekend's programme.
Settle in
and
explore this modern residence before taking
a stroll down by way of the old fishing port
to the 'Grand Plage' where surfers bob
and weave through the waves and the beautiful
people throng the promenade and open-air
cafés. Check out the Casino and
the fish restaurants around the port.
Overnight in apartment
Day
2 : After breakfast a short walk
over to the the Surf school HQ on the Plage
des Basques. They'll fit you out with a wetsuit
and board
... and
show you what a real wave looks like! The
adventure continues! Another session after
lunch and
you'll
be boasting of pipelines and tubes with the
experts. (The exact timing of these sessions
depends on the tide: they may be rolled into
one or in distict morning and evening phases.)
Overnight in apartment
Day 3 : Depending
on the tide to-day's surfing lesson could be in the
morning or afternoon. Plenty of other things
to do in the meantime with the Aquarium to visit, a round
of golf perhaps ... or getting out there with the worlds'
best on the Grand Plage! Overnight.
Day
4 : breakfast . Depending on flight
times you may have time for a last dip in the
ocean surf before
being transferred back to the airport.
Your
accommodation:
Self-catering
studio for 2 to 4 people in
downtown Biarritz. The flat is equipped for 4 guests:
two twin beds and two bunk-beds, kitchenette with hobs,
fridge and microwave. The residence has a comfortable
bar and a restaurant which serves from breakfast through
to dinner.
