'n' Spa in the Pyrenees

Mont
Louis is the highest fortified village in France, built
by Vauban on the orders of Louis XIV to defend the realm
against Spain. Perched high
on the Cerdagne plateau in the Eastern Pyrenees it is the gateway to the
vast ski domains at Font Romeu and Les Angles.
The
skiing: you can opt for either a 2 day skipass at the
resort of Font Romeu for some extreme downhill skiing
or snowboarding OR a more leisurely programme of 2 days
snow-shoe
excursions or cross-country skiing with a guide (material
supplied). Font Romeu and its sister resort 'Pyrenees
2000' offer over 40 pistes at all levels: 6 black, 8
red, 11
blue, 15 green and a surf-park.
There are over 100 kms of signed cross-country trails.
ACCOMMODATION
We
suggest you stay in one of the neighbouring ski resorts
(all within 20 minutes of Mont Louis: Font
Romeu, Les Angles or Pyrenees
2000 (the closest).
