of the Pyrenean range. SKI'N'SPA means
exactly that: ski during the day before relaxing in warm
thermal waters on your return from the slopes in one of
Europe's finest spa complexes.
SKIING
La
Mongie is the largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees
in terms of kilometres of pistes. It is located on the
famous Tourmalet pass where many a Tour de France has
been lost and won not far from the mighty Pic du Midi.

area: 69 ski runs: 23 green, 19 blue, 21 red and 6 black – 43
lifts: 1 telecabin, 1 cabin lift, 13 chair lifts including
3 X 6-person ones, 26 ski lifts and 2 magic carpets,
representing 32 km of lifts – 170 snow guns – luge
area - 1 snowpark.
Other winter
sports include nordic skiing, snowscooter excursions, dog-sledding
and snow-shoe hiking. Experienced skiers may even attempt the perilous
descent from the top of the Pic du Midi (3000m) in the company of a
mountain guide.

hotel is a 3* establishment on the outskirts of the spa
town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the foothills of
the Pyrenees. Stylishly refurbished by designer Philippe
Starck, it boasts spacious rooms and gym with sauna.
Its 54 rooms have TV, en suite bathrooms with bath/shower
and WC.

the hotel has its own spa facilities visitors may like
to visit the old turn-of-the-century spa and thermal
baths in the village centre

Large pool: under a vast cathedral of wood bathed in

* Small pool: hydro massage and aqua-music in this separate bath: calm, musical
ambiance.
* Hammam: a long series of rooms with progressive temperature rise, benches
of heated marble, hot and cold plunging pools, massage room, relaxation room
with vaulted, starred ceiling. Hot mint tea is served and Hammam linen distributed.
* Sauna: two Finnish saunas with a refreshing cold waterfall.
* Terraces and viewpoint: outdoor wooden terraces with view over the mountains
