hillsides and great food - except ... the crowds and the
traffic jams. It's where the French go on holiday: prices

Our little break is based in Sète, a bustling fishing
port on the Mediterranean coast, just 40 minutes from the
regional capital Montpellier.
Our suggested programme:
Day 1:
on arrival at Montpellier airport pick up your hire car
and head for the coast, a 45 minute drive. Settle into
your hotel in the town centre and then take a walkabout
through the narrow streets which criss-cross a network
of canals. A visit to the History Museum and the Languedoc
Museum are a must, as is the guided tour of the historic
centre. Dine in one of the myriad sea-food restaurants
in the old port.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 2:
After breakfast, en route for Montpellier the regional
capital, a delightful city of broad palm-lined avenues,
impressive white stone buildings and a lively café culture.
Return to Sète and overnight in hotel.
Day 3:
breakfast at hotel. A last look around the fishing port
and the fish market - colourful spectacle of fresh fish
and seafood - or a dip in the blue mediterranean before
heading back to the airport for your flight home.
