MIMIZAN

The Atlantic
coast from the Gironde estuary
north of Bordeaux to the Spanish border at Hendaye in the
Basque Country is one long sandy beach where the ocean rollers
finally crash to rest.
The hinterland is thick pine forest broken
only by charming villages and little lakes.
Mimizan is south of the Arcachon Basin with the town itself set
back from the coast a couple of kilometres. Mimizan-Plage (where our residence is located) is right on the ocean.
It's a series of laneways, hidden behind the
sand-dunes, where one can enjoy the cafés and restaurants
in an intimate atmosphere. The beach itself is unspoilt with
literally miles of unbroken sandy strand stretching off to
the horizon.
