Wining and Dining in the Quercy
A weekend wining and dining in a luxurious french
chateau, visiting vineyards and local markets. Half board in 3*
chateau-hotel plus rental car. 
The Quercy 'blanc' is a region of rolling hills,
orchards and vineyards, oak forests and hilltop villages in the
south-west of France. Our chateau break is based in the centre
of the region, an hour's drive from Bergerac airport. It's a perfaect
base from which to discover the countryside, its chateaux, villages,
markets and tiny picturesque villages. Or just to sit around and
relax, enjoy the good food and wine, the pool and the serious selection
of old Armagnacs!
Our suggested programme:
Saturday: arrival Bergerac or Toulouse airport
. Take hire car the 60/90 minute drive to the chateau in the
Quercy, a country of rolling hills, vineyards and bijou white-stone
villages.
Settle into your room with a view over the estate or the floral patio.
The evening starts with a welcome aperitif and continues with a gourmet dinner
prepared by chef Guy Hérault. Overnight in Chateau.
Sunday:
After breakfast departure to visit the most colourful market
in the region :
that of Montcuq. And then a trip to St Cyprien to visit and lunch
at the "Grange de Marcillac", a celebrated restaurant.
In the afternoon you can visit the hilltop village of Lauzerte which is designated
one of the most beautiful villages of France
Dinner and overnight in château.
Monday:
Visit to the Lot Valley. Cahors and its 'Pont Valentré',
the
beautiful
village of St Cirq-Lapopie and, if you wish, a visit to the prehistoric
site at Pech Merle with its paleolithic cave paintings
Dinner and overnight in château.
Tuesday:
Final breakfast in the château.

Accommodation
The 3* chateau-hotel is a 17th century stone-built chateau surrounded by its
extensive estate and the rolling Quercy countryside. It has been refurbished
as a luxury hotel with en suite bathrooms and WC in every room. The chef
is renowned throughout France and is famous for his cooking
courses. The hotel has an outdoor pool and guests can use the hotel's
bicycles to visit the neighbouring villages.
