Get off the beaten track a bit and head
away from the crowded beaches of the Riviera to the peace
and tranquillity of deepest Provence.
Nyons is one of those big villages which
can never be called a town although it appears to have all
the facilities: shops, cafés, restaurants and, above all,
street markets. And what street markets they are! As well
as the famous black olives of Nyons (which grow in the olive
groves surrounding the village) there are tomatoes, peppers,
melons, aubergines, courgettes,herbs of every variety, bunches
of lavender and litres of olive oil.
