Day 6 : Pont du Gard & Avignon
Pick up at your hotel by your guide and set off for a full-day tour of Provence.
First stop at the Pont du Gard, the best preservd part of the Roman aqueduct which drove the water to Nîmes.
Continue the day with a visit of Châteauneuf-du-Pape where grapes were first planted in the 14th century by the Avignon Popes. Tour a local winery and taste some of the finest wines.
Then on to Avignon for a sightseeing tour of the fortified city including a visit of the Palace of the Popes, the largest gothic palace in Europe.
Transfer back to Arles.
Dinner in local restaurant & overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 : Mont Sainte-Victoire
Pick up at your hotel and transfer to Mont Sainte-Victoire where you will meet up with your walking guide.
Mont Sainte Victoire is a symbol of Provence, the major landmark of the Aix en Provence area, and a favorite motif of Cezanne's. Sainte Victoire is very famous for hiking and climbling. There are several routes that will all lead you to a 17th century priory and to the cross of Provence. From there, discover a magnificient panoramic view of Provence's mountains and the rolling planes around Aix en Provence. During the whole lenght of your walking enjoy superb viewpoints.
Transfer to Aix en Provence and settle into your hotel.
Dinner & overnight at your hotel.
