Ax-les-Thermes is a spa village
in the main valley leading from Toulouse to Andorra. Only
90 minutes by motorway and main road from both Toulouse and
Carcassonne airports it has become an 'insider secret' for
UK and Irish skiers looking for easily accessible ski resorts
and great skiing. Rather than ploughing on another hour and
a half up to Andorra (and risking blocked roads, avalanches
and queues) canny skiers are opting for Ax as a clever alternative
to Andorra.
The skiing is on the plateau above the village
- fast cable-car service from the village centre - where
three distinct ski areas are available: all operating on
the same ski-pass.

The slopes at Bonascre, Campels and le Saquet have 70 km of signed
pistes serviced by 34 lifts and

skiing in the middle of nowhere and 10 km snowshoe trails.

benefit fully from the village activities (casino, cafés,
restaurants, nightclubs and thermal baths) we have chosen
a family-run hotel on the River Ariège just 150
yeards from the Town Spa and the cablecar up to the slopes.
The hotel is small and quiet with a gourmet  restaurant.
Guests can enjoy the hotel jacuzzi and garden. All rooms
have TV, en suite bathrooms with bath/shower and WC.

Constructed using traditional materials from the region, the residence's 2
buildings have an excellent location close to the spas, the gondola lift leading
to the ski area and to Ax town centre. The apartments are very comfortable,
and all have a balcony or loggia.
