affairs with the accent on local produce and, surprise, food!
Locally-produced olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, bunches of
dried herbs, lavender and jars of fish soup.
Based in Aix-en-Provence, the small and charming university
town which acts as capital for this extensive region between
the Alps and the Mediterranean, you will have the local
market at your doorstep .. before exploring the region with
outings to Marseille (lunching on a dish of Bouillabaisse
in the 'Vieux Port' is not to be missed), the rocky coast
of 'les Calanques' around Cassis or hiking over the Mont
Sainte Victoire, much beloved by Cézanne.
 
Accommodation:
Your hotel is a quality 3* establishment
in Aix-en-Provence. Rooms are large with comfortable king-size
beds and ensuite bathroom and WC. Two restaurants both serving
local specialities with one more fish-oriented. Walking distance
from the town centre and the markets.

mins)
